Realm versus Realm
Notice
Realm versus Realm comes later in WoR. This page describes it as it was in the original game.
In Warhammer Online, Realm versus Realm, or RvR, was the heart of the game: Order against Destruction, player against player, from the first rank to the last.
Scenarios
Scenarios were instanced battles with set teams and set goals: hold the flags, carry the relic, take the points. You could queue for them from anywhere and be back where you were when the battle ended.
Open battlefields
Every tier had open lakes of RvR where the two realms met in the open. Battlefield objectives could be captured and held, and doing so pushed your realm's control of the zone.
Keep sieges
Keeps stood in the RvR lakes. Taking one meant battering down its doors under fire from the walls, with oil, rams and siege engines, and then fighting the lord inside.
The campaign
Victory points from scenarios, battlefields, keeps and public quests added up into control of each pairing. Push far enough and the war reached the enemy's capital.
None of this is in WoR yet. The realm server, the careers and the world come first.
