How the Realm Works

Three parts on our own hardware

The realm of WoR runs on one machine of our own:

• The login service keeps the accounts and hands out tickets to the world.
• The world server runs the game: the regions, the creatures, combat and every character in the field. It saves characters to the database as you play.
• The database keeps accounts and characters.

Registration

Registration is by invitation while the realm is tested: enlist with an invite code from the War Council on Discord. Your account page lists your characters.

The lamp

The lamp is read live. This site asks the realm's status service at most every 30 seconds and shows what it says: whether the realm is up, how many warriors are in the field and how many regions are running. If the realm does not answer, the lamp goes unlit and says Unknown, with the time of the last answer it had.
